dc.description.abstract	A number of organomercury(II)-purine complexes of the type. p-MeC₆H₄Hg (L¹) (I), p-MeC₆H₄Hg(L²) (II), p-MeC₆H₄Hg(L³) (III), p-MeC₆H₄HgCI(L⁴) (IV) and p-MeC₆H₄HgCI(L⁵) (V) [Where L¹ = theophylline, L² = 6-thioguanine, L³ = 6-mercaptopurine, L⁴ = theobromine, L⁵ = caffeine] have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of elemental analyses. Conductance measurements and spectral studies (IR, UV, ¹H and ¹³C NMR).	en_US
