| Abstract: | A dinuclear trimethylplatinum(IV) complex [PtMe3(SOPPh2)]2 incorporating a diphenylthiophosphinate ligand has been prepared. The complex has an octahedral environment around platinum with diphenylthiophosphinate acting as a tridentate ligand. Bridge cleavage reactions of this complex with neutral bidentate nitrogen donor ligands give mononuclear complexes in which thio ligand behaves in a monodentate fashion coordinating through sulphur. |
