| dc.description.abstract | The oxidation of bis(2,2',6',2"-terpyridine)iron(II), Fe(tpy) by cerium(IV) has been studied in sulphuric acid using stopped-flow spectrophotometry. The reaction is overall second order, first order in each reactant. The rate of the reaction increases with increase in [H2OSO].Three cerium (IV) species viz., CeSO , Ce(SO4)2 and Ce(SO4) are considered to be the reactive oxidising species. | en_US |
