| Abstract: | OH-apatite when reacted with Na2PO3F in solid state transforms into a mixed apatite Ca5,(OH)1-xFx(PO4)3. The Ca-phosphate frame work of the apatite lattice remains unaffected during the fluoridation process. The evolved HF molecule on hydrolysis of Na2PO3F acts as fluoridating agent in the transformation of OH-apatite into F-apatite lattice. |
