| Abstract: | Synthesis of oxoperoxo ( -cysteinato)vanadate(V), A2[V2O2(O2)3(cysH)2]. H2O (A=NH4, or K), by the reaction of
vanadium(V) with H2O2 and -cysteine at pH 2.5 to 3, is reported. The co pounds have been characterized by chemical analyses and s ctral studies. The co-ligand occurs in the complex as cysteinat and binds the metal bidentately through O and S atoms. A comparison of the complex with that of its glycine analogue has been made. |
