The oxidation of 2-aminobenzimidazole has been studied in the pH range 2.0-10.8 in phosphate buffers at pyrolytic graphite electrode. The product corresponding to peak IIa has been identified as an azotetrazine derivative using NM and mass spectra techniques. A plausible mechanism for its formation has also been suggested.en_US
