Abstract: Cadmium(II) and bismuth(III) have been determined in human blood and plant tissues by differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry (DPASV).The supporting electrolytes used are 0.01 M  HNO3 and 0.01 M sodium succinate for Cd(II) and Bi(III) determinations, respectively. The linear calibration plots have been obtained in the range of 0.01 ppb to 10 ppb and 0.01 ppb  to 10 ppb for Cd(II) and Bi(III) with the minimum determinable limits of 10 ppt and 100 ppt respectively. The procedures recommended are highly sensitive and relatively free from interference by other metal ions.
