Nature of anionic diffusion in Ca5(OH)(PO4)3 lattice has been studied using NH4F as a fluoridating agent. The fluoridation of OH-apatite by solid state reaction with NH4F occurs through the formation of CaF2, as an intermediate. Formation of F- ions substituted OH-apatite is favoured only at higher temperatures.en_US
