dc.description.abstract13C NMR has been used to determine the monomer sequence distribution of styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer prepared by charge transfer mechanism. The copolymer analysed is found to be mostly alternating with about 90% of maleic anhydride-styrene-maleic anhydride (MSM) triad. The tendency of maleic anhydride to add to itselfin a growing polymer chain is so low that there is no M-M diad along the chain. The only maleic anhydride centred triad is SMS.en_US
