| Abstract: | Synergism in the extraction of cobalt in the presence of a mixture of benzoyltrifluoroacetooe and various donors (both O and N donors) has been studied. The nature of adducts formed has been investigated by slope analysis and the equilibrium constants have been evaluated. Synergism increases in the order: sulphoxides < alkyl phosphate < nitrogen donors and shows a correlation with the basicity of the donor. |
