| dc.description.abstract | The template polymerization of methyl acrylate (MA) along with poly(2-vinyl pyridine) (P2VP) template of ( v = 72.000) at 60°C for 120 min in dimethylformamide (DMF) has been studied dilatometrically to investigate the effect of'[template]. [monomer) and [initiator] (AIBN) upon kinetics and mechanism of the reaction. Viscometric measurements show that complexation between PMA and P2VP is very fast at 60ᵒC giving 1:1 complexes and is virtually completed after 10 min. The v of daughter polymer is 70.210 which is very close to that of template. The overall energy of activation ( E) of template and blank polymerization is 77.0 kJ /mol and 96.0 kJ/mol, respectively. The resulting plots of relative polymerization rate (VR) versus [P2VP] and [MA] show that the polymerization in the present system is a combination of three different reaction mechanisms, the blank reaction and two template mechanisms (I and II). | en_US |
