The complexes of Pd(II) chloride with 5-aminouracil (AUH), 4-aminoantipyrine (AAPy), 4-nitrosoantipyrine (NAPy),2-aminobenzenethioi (ABTH) and dyes derived from β-naphthol and AUH (UANOLH2), AAPy(APyANOLH) or ABTH (BTANOLH2) have been prepared and studied. On the basis of elemental analyses, molar, conductance, IR and electronic spectral data, they have been characterized as PdL2Cl2 (L=AUH or NAPy), PdL'Cl2(L' = AAPy) and PdL''Cl(L'' = ABT, APyANOL, BTANOLH or UANOLH). These complexes undergo complete decomposition above 215°C to form palladium oxide. The complexes have been screened for their possible antitumour activity in vitro using Dalton's Lymphoma Ascites (DLA) tumour cells.en_US
