| dc.description.abstract | The non-alkyl cobalt(III) complexes, [Co(HMe2en)X2] (X = Cl, Br, I, SCN, SeCN), where H2Me2en is the tetradentate dioxime schiff base ligand, 3,8-dimethyl-4, 7-diazadeca- 3, 7-diene-2, 9-dione dioxime, react with imidazole (Im) or 1-vinylimidazole (1-Vilm) to form comp exes of the type [Co(Me2en) (B)2]X, B = Im, 1-Vilm; X = Cl, Br, I or [Co(Me2en) (B)X], X = SCN, SeCN. The intramolecular hydrogen bridge in the [Co(HMe2en)X2 complexes is absent in the imidazole derivatives and the tetradentate nitrogen donor acts as a dianionic ligand in [Co Me2en) (B)2]X and [Co(Me2en) (B)X] complexes. The complexes have been characterised by elemental analyses, conductance, electronic, infrared, NMR (1H and 13C) spectral and thermogravimetric measurements. | en_US |
