| Abstract: | Phenothiazine (PTZ) forms 1:1 and 2:1 charge transfer(CT) complexes with picric acid (PA) and p-chloranil (CA) respectively. The CT interactions in solution as well as in solid states have been investigated using electronic, IR, high resolution (270 MHz) FT-1H NMR and thermo-analytical techniques. The spectroscopic data indicate that the CT interactions in PTZ-CA is stronger than in PTZ-PA complex. |
