| Abstract: | Zinc(II) forms the complex ZnL(H2O)2 with 3-(o-carboxyphenyl)-1-phenyltriazene 1-oxide (LH2).The complex has been characterised, along with its reaction products with some neutral N-donors (X); on the basis of elemental analysis and IR and 1H NMR studies. Thermal properties and isolable intermediates of thermolysis of the complexes have also been studied. In all the complexes the triazene 1-oxide behaves as a dibasic tetradentate ligand (O-, N-, O2) showing a marked tendency to form mixed ligand complexes. |
