| Abstract: | A number of p-substituted diarylselenium (IV) trifluoroethoxides, (RC6H4)2Se(OCH2CF3)2, where R = H, p- CH3, p-CH3O, p-C2H5O, p-Br and p-Cl, have been prepared in excellent yields by metathesis between respective diarylselenium (IV) chloride and sodium trifluoroethoxide. These compounds are characterized by elemental analyses, IR, 1H and 19F NMR and mass spectral studies. |
