| Abstract: | A very simple method of separation and microdetermination of palladium with ɑ-benzildioxime as a reagent is proposed. It eliminates the interference of a large number of elements such as Re, Mo, W, U, Cr, V, Zr, Ce, Se, Pt, Ru, Rh, as, Fe, Hi, Sb, Mg, Hg, Cu, Co, Ni, Mn and Ag in alkaline medium. The method is highly selective, sensitive and applicable to the analysis of a variety of samples. The system obeys Beer's law up to 4 μg Pd/ml, with a Sandell's sensitivity of 0.007 μg cm-2. The metal to ligand ratio in the extracted species is found to be 1:2 by Job's method of continuous variation. The complex has an absorption maximum at 325 nm. |
