Ethyl aryl tellurides have been conveniently prepared in high yields by the reaction of aryl tellurolate anions, generated in situ with ethyl bromide. These tellurides have been converted into their respective tellurium dichlorides which on further treatment with NaOCH2CF3 yield the respective bis(2, 2, 2-trifluoroethoxides). All these compounds have been characterized by elemental analyses, IR, 1H and 19F NMR and mass spectral data.en_US
