Spectral changes are observed when anhydrous nickel and zinc 8-quinolinates are dissolved in chloroform containing of moisture. These changes are attributed to the hy-drate formation. Kinetics of hydrate formation of these metal oxinates have been performed at various temperatures and the rate constants of hydrate formation and thermodynamic constants have been evaluated.en_US
