| dc.description.abstract | Reactions of RR'SnCl2 (R = Me, Et or Ph; R' = Me, Et or Ph) with neutral bidentate nitrogen donor ligands, [ = bis(1-pyrazolyl)methane (pz2CH2), bis(3,5-dimethyl-l-pyrazolyl)methane [(Me2pz)2CH2], 1-(2-pyridyl)pyrazole (pzpy) and 1-(2-pyridyl)-3,5-dimethylpyrazole (Me2pzpy)], afford addition compounds of the type [RR'SnCl2( )]. All the compounds have been characterised by elemental analyses, IR, NMR and 119mSn Mossbauer spectral data. The observed values of isomer shift (δ > 1.3mm/s) and quadrupole splitting ( Eq > 3.5 mm/s) are interpreted in terms of trans-RR'Sn(IV) octahedral configuration. Variation of δ and Eq is discussed in terms of the coordination number and the nature of ligands (R, R' or ). | en_US |
