| Abstract: | The formation constants of the mixed ligand complexes of the type M(II)AL, where M(II) = Cu (II), Ni(II), Co(II) or Zn(II) and A= thiodipropionic acid (TDPA) and L= histidine (HST), tryptophan (TRP), aspartic acid (ASP) or ethylenediamine (en), have been determined inaqueous media by potentiometric method at 35 ± 0.l°C and μ = 0.10 M (KNO3). The values of D log K (log K - log K ) are negative for all the systems studied. The lower stabilities of the ternary systems as compared to those of the binary systems may be due to electrostatic repulsion between the two charged ligands. |
