Enthalpies of mixing of polyoxypropyleneglycol (PPG) fractions of mol wts 150, 425 and 2025 with benzene, ethanol and pyqdine have been determined at 300.05K. The results for PPG + benzene systems have been explained on the basis of end group effect and specific interactions. For PPG(2) + ethanol(1)systems, 1-2, 1-1 and 2-2 type hydrogen bonding explains the data while 1-1 and 2-2 type of interactions predominate in PPG(2) + pyridine(1) systems. On comparison with Flory's theory, a fair agreement is found for PPG-150 + benzene, +ethanol, PPG-425 + ethanol and PPG- 2025 + benzene, and at low or high concentrations of PPG for other systems.en_US
