Activity coefficients of Ag+ and Ca2+ ions have been calculated at different ionic strengths from the solubilities of Ag2SO4 and CaSO4 in aqueous H2SO4, those for SO ion being obtained from previous work. These values can be used to predict the solubilities of these salts in other aqueous electrolytes. A comparison with the experimental results in aqueous NaNO3 (for Ag2SO4) and aqueous NaCI (for CaSO4) suggests that, unlike Ag+, Ca2+ undergoes specific interaction with HSO / SO.en_US
