Complexes of the type NiL2.XH2O and adducts of the type NiL2Bn.XH2O (LH = N-forrnyl- pbenylalanylglycine and Nebenzoyl-m-alanylglycine; B = imidazole, 2-methylimidazole and 1,2-dimethylimidazole; n = 2; and X = 0-2) have been prepared and characterised by physical and spectroscopic techniques. Carboxylate group of the dipeptide coordinates in a bidentate manner. Electronic spectra of the complexes show three absorption bands and their magnetic moment values lie in the range 3.0-3.25 B.M. Molar conductance values show non-electrolytic behaviour of the nickel(II) complexes. All the complexes have been assigned six-coordinated structures.en_US
