| dc.description.abstract | Five dimeric complexes of cobalt(II), nickel(II), zinc(II), cadmium(II) and mercury(II) and one tetrameric copper(II) complex with the schiff base 1,2,5,6-tetraphenyl- 3,4-diazahexa- 2,4-diene-l ,6-diol have been synthesized: The schiff base behaves as a bis-bidentate ligand having ON - NO donor atoms. The complexes have been characterised on the basis of analytical, conductance, magnetic susceptibility, IR and electronic spectral data apart from pKa measurements. The data are consistent with distorted octahedral stereochemistry for Co(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II), square-planar geometry for Cu(II) and tetrahedral configuration for Cd(II) and Hg(II) complexes. | en_US |
