Metal complexes of S, N donor ligands: Synthesis and characterisation of bismuth(III) complexes with 2-alkylaminocyclopentene-1-carbodithioic acids and of their esters

Abstract

Reactions of BiCl₃/Bi(NO₃)₃.5H₂O with S-alkyl derivatives of 2-aminocyclopentene-1-carbodithioic acids in 1:1 molar ratio in refluxing THF solution yield the simple addition products(<strong>2</strong>), whereas the reactions of BiCl₃ with sodium salts of 2-alkyl-aminocyclopentene-1-carbodithioic acids in 1:3 molar ratio lead to the formation of the simple tris-complexes (<strong>5</strong>). These compounds have been characterised by elemental analyses, molecular weight determinations and IR and PMR spectral data.
