Abstract: Palladium perchlorate reacts with several monodentate tertiary phosphines or arsines in acetonitrile to produce three-coordinate complexes of the type [PdL3[ClO4]2 (L= Ph3P, Ph2EtP, Ph3As, Ph2MeAs, Nap2MeAs, Cy3As, Ph3Sb), while the reaction in tetrahydrofuran leads to four-coordinate complexes of the formula [PdL4][ClO4]2 (L= Ph3P, Ph3As, Ph3Sb). With chelating bidentate ligands, palladium perchlorate yields [Pd(L-L)2][ClO4]2 (L-L= diphos, ɑ-pybzl) complexes.
