Volatile compounds of (3-diketonates of uranium(IV) with tetrahydrofuran and dimethoxyethane

Abstract

Complexes of the type UCl₂(β-diketonate).nL, where β-diketonate = CF₃COCHCOR^- [R=CF₃CH₃, C₄H₃S or C₆H₅ and denoted by HFAA, lFAA, ITA and BTA respectively] and L= tetrahydrofuran (THF) or 1,2-dimethoxyethane (DME) have been prepared and characterised by elemental analyses, infrared and mass spectral techniques. Vapour pressure of UCl₂(HFAA)₂.2THF has been measured by transpiration method in the temperature range of 309-394 K. The enthalpy ofvaporisation has been estimated to be 99.2 kJ mol^-1.
