Polymaleamides have been synthesized by the ring-opening polyaddition reaction of N,N'-methanedianilinebisisomaleimide (MBIMI) to diamines (1,4-diaminobutane, 1,8-diaminooctane, diaminodicyclo-hexylmethane, piperazine, 2,5-dimethylpiperazine) in l-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone. The polymaleamides have been characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, solubility in various solvents, inherent viscosity, IR and Uv-visible spectral and TG data.en_US
