Indane-1,2,3-trione trioxime (lTT) forms water soluble complexes with copper(II), nickel(II), iron(II) and cobalt(II) in the presence of potassium periodate in sodium acetate - acetic acid buffer medium. The formation of the water soluble complexes has been used to develop a direct spectrophotometric method for the determination of these metal ions. The compositions and stability constants of the complexes formed have also been determined.en_US
