Abstract: Formation and electrochemical characterization of cellulose acetate supported lecithin liquid membrane composite structure have been investigated. Alteration in resistivity has been used to detect the liquid membrane formation. Membrane transport numbers, permselectivity and fixed charge density have been estimated using membrane potential data. Variation of these characteristics with concentration and pH has been examined. Electrophoretic mobility measurements have been carried out to determine the electrical nature of the lecithin-solution interface.
