| Abstract: | Modern science often explains reality by breaking it down into fundamental components, such as quarks and gluons. This reductionist approach has been highly successful, but it may not fully capture the interconnected nature of reality. In contrast, holistic perspectives, like Bohmian quantum mechanics, suggest that the relationships between parts are just as important as the parts themselves-sometimes even shaping them in non-local ways. This paper explores how both physics and Indian philosophical traditions, particularly the Padarthadharmasangrahad, provide insights into emergence-the idea that complex systems exhibit properties that cannot be explained solely by their individual components. A key theme in both modern physics and Indian Knowledge Systems is non-absolutism, which challenges rigid definitions and encourages a more dynamic understandingof reality. By integrating these perspectives, this work proposes a framework for redefiningwhat constitutes a "system, & quot; highlighting the deep interplay between parts and wholes. Thisapproach calls for a shift in how we understand the fundamental nature of reality. |
