Abstract: Some tetracoordinated new organotellurium(II) compounds of the type RR1TeL1 and RR1TeL2 (where R=R1= C6H5CH2; R=R1= C6H4; R=R1= C6H5; R = R1= p-MeO C6H4; R = p-Me2NC6H4, R1= p-MeOC6H4 and R=p-Me2NC6H4, R 1 = p-EtOC6H4) have been prepared via the template condensation of 1,2-dibromoethane or 1, 3-dibromopropane with aniline. The compounds have been characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductivity, PMR, IR, magnetic susceptibility measurements and X-ray photoelectron spectra. An octahedral geometry has been assigned for all these compounds.
