| Abstract: | A continuous flow laboratory scale fluidised bed bioreactor (FBBR) was designed and operated for the treatment of synthetic dairy waste with average COD 520 mg/L. Mathematical models for FBBR for 90% COD removal and 25% COD removal were calculated" It was found that 23% COD removal was possible at a bed height of 8.0 cm which is very close to the theoretically calculated value, i.e., 25%.COD removal at a bed height of 9.6 cm. So a pilot plant construction is possible for 90% COD removal on the basis of theoretical calculations. |
