Kasturi (musk) obtained from Kasturi mriga (musk deer), was chiefly used as a Rasayaua (irnmunornodulator) as well as vajikarana (aphrodisiac) by the ancient physicians of Ayurveda. It was once considered as a last resort of emergency medicine. Some experimental studies on its stimulant and antisnake venom properties are reported to be promising. Detailed discussion on kasturi has been made in the review. en_US
