| Abstract: | Kasturi (musk) obtained from Kasturi mriga (musk deer), was chiefly used as a Rasayaua (irnmunornodulator) as well as vajikarana (aphrodisiac) by the ancient physicians of Ayurveda. It was once considered as a last resort of emergency medicine. Some experimental studies on its stimulant and antisnake venom properties are reported to be promising. Detailed discussion on kasturi has been made in the review. |
