dc.description.abstract	Silicon (IV) aryloxides of the types Me_nSi(OAr)_4-n (OAr= OC₆H₃Me₂-3,4; OC₆H₃Me₂-3,5; OC₆H₃Prⁱ₂- 2,6; OC₆H₂Me₃-2,4,6; OC₆H₃Bu^t₂-2,6; OC₆H₂Bu^t₃- 2,4,6; n = 1,2 and 3), Si(OC₆Bu^t₂-2,6)₄, CISi-(OC₆H₃Prⁱ₂-2,6)₃, CI₂Si(OC₆H₃Bu^t-2,6)₂ and Cl₃Si (OC₆H₃Bu^t2,6) have been prepared by chloride-aryloxide exchange reactions and characterized by elemental analysis, molecular weight measurements, IR and ¹H, ¹³C and ²⁹Si NMR studies.	en_US
