Abstract: Some trioganotin(IV) complexes with the general formula, Ph3SnL [where LH =semi- and thiosemi-carbazones of 2-acetylthiophene, 2-acetylfuran and 2-acetylnaphthalene] have been prepared and characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, molecular weight, conductivity and infrared, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectral data. The lR and 1H NMR spectral data suggest that the ligands act in a monofunctional bidentate manner coordinating through nitrogen and sulphur atoms. A penta-coordinated trigonal-bipyramidal structure is tentatively proposed for the complexes.
