| Abstract: | Photochemical reaction of isotetralene with Fe(CO)5 gives the complex isotetralenetricarbonyliron(I), which on treatment with Ph3CBF4 affords the trienyl salt C10H11Fe(CO)3 + BF4-(II). The trienyl salt(II) on nucleophilic attack by nucleophiles such as diethyl malonate, α-chloroacetate, cyanide and acetylacetonate gives the neutral complexes IlIa, b, c, d respectively where isomerization of coordmation positions occurs. |
