| Abstract: | A number of organomercury(II)-purine complexes of the type. p-MeC6H4Hg (L1) (I), p-MeC6H4Hg(L2) (II), p-MeC6H4Hg(L3) (III), p-MeC6H4HgCI(L4) (IV) and p-MeC6H4HgCI(L5) (V) [Where L1 = theophylline, L2 = 6-thioguanine, L3 = 6-mercaptopurine, L4 = theobromine, L5 = caffeine] have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of elemental analyses. Conductance measurements and spectral studies (IR, UV, 1H and 13C NMR). |
